Fort Lee, NJ- Delaware Water Gap, NJ Advertising/Directory. |
|
United States Highway 46 begins in Fort Lee, New Jersey, on the
Hudson River. Route 46 ends where it crosses the Delaware River
in Warren County, New Jersey. US Route 46 meets Route 57 in
Hackettstown, it meets Route 31 in Buttzville and crosses Route 519
near Bridgeville, New Jersey. This Directory will focus on shops and
towns West of Netcong, New Jersey. If an advertiser East of Netcong
requests coverage, they will not be refused. On the map studied for
this reference, Route 46 passes fourteen towns between Netcong and
Delaware Water Gap, New Jersey. Please see the towns listed
below. In it's 'hay day', before Interstate 80 existed, US Route 46 was
the main passage from New York City, New York and the Pennsylvania
Pocono Mountains. On weekends, traffic would back up for miles as
people traveled West from 'the BIG city' for clean air and peace of mind.
Flea Markets and Hot Dog Stands and Merchants along Route 46 were
very busy as travelers pulled over to seek relief. ROUTE 46 DIRECTORY, Landmarks & Towns
