THE OLD BARRACKS

THE OLD BARRACKS were raided by General George Washington and his army on December 26, 1776. On Christmas day 1776 the Revolutionary army crossed the Delaware River from Pennsylvania. After raiding the German Hessians in Trenton, General Washington led his army through Princeton, New Jersey to force a wedge of resistence through the King's line of defense. The battle of Trenton is referred to as,
"The turning point of the REVOLUTION."
